Goodnight Strawberry Shortcake

I LOVED Strawberry Shortcake as a child! I mean I loved everything about her. So when I was in Walmart one day and I happened to run across strawberry shortcake pajamas, you know I had to buy them. I dont care for Walmart at times when it comes to Paige but they have the cutest pajama sets for girls .... and they are quite affordable for me .... and comfortable for her. We both WIN!

Motherhood = NO Privacy!

My second time around with this thing called motherhood is bringing experiences that I never had the "pleasure" of experiencing the first time. Like lack of privacy. Maybe it's because I have a girl this time. My son always kind of left me alone. I can never remember a time where I was on the toilet and here came Jalen. Not one single time. However Paige is cut from a different cloth. Paige stays side eyeing any type of privacy that I attempt to have. She took my privacy, balled it up in her hands and threw it in the trash. Paige took my privacy, drove it out to a deserted house, and left it there ..... Walking Dead style. Paige took my privacy and beat it like Harpo did Sofia. My privacy feels like

Paige told my privacy BYE .... like Felicia. First it started with her knocking on the door while I was in the bathroom. She would bang on the door until I answered. If I ignored her, she'd cry and bang until I swung the door open. I mean a woman cant have 10 minutes to herself to handle her business without KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK! Just

for no reason lol  Even if I was doing number two, she'd stand right next to me and smile. Then she graduated. It went from being in the bathroom while I was using the bathroom to pulling the bathroom curtain back while I was showering. She'd stand there with an amazed look on her face as if she was just discovering a shower for the first time. I went to my husband and said I dont ask for much do I? Is it too much to ask for just a little privacy in the bathroom????? I went to facebook and surprisingly every mother/girl child laughed at me. Apparently I am late to the party. This is the life when you have a girl.

This cant be the life. So fast forward to this evening. I come home from my first training session and all I want is a hot hot hot bubble bath. I mean my poor muscles are screaming and my poor body is begging for TLC. I run a hot tub FULL of bubbles and water and I quietly slip into the bathroom unnoticed. I'm in the tub, relaxing, feeling GREAT ..... when all of a sudden the door opens and here comes missy pooh! She looks at the bubbles, grins and takes her diaper off. My calm and pleasant bubble bath turned into me telling Paige not to eat the bubbles, Paige splashing water everywhere and then us laughing and sliding everywhere. So basically now I cant have bubble baths to myself either.  All I could do is laugh. I guess what the other mothers told me was true. When you decide to become a mommy, you give up all rights to privacy.
No they are NOT joking!

Sunday Mornings with the Johnsons

Picture it: Me, my husband and Paige are relaxing in our bed. Paige grabs her dad's phone and begins to explore it. Her dad tells Paige to get my phone because its Sunday and my phone probably has gospel on it.  People never believe my husband and I but Paige Malia is a trip. I was trying to record her manipulating her dad's iPhone for her godmother because the girl is an iPhone genius ..... Instead this is what I caught.

This girl takes her dad's phone and as he is talking, she puts on 2 Chainz. She knows what she is doing because the smirk gives her away. And I wont even mention the dance. This little girl has been here before. Look out world! All I could say is ...

Product Review...African Pride Hair Pudding

I have been using coconut oil on my daughter's hair for the longest. I usually wash her hair and then grease her scalp using the oil.  As her hair gets longer and thicker, new problems are arising that can not be solved by simply using coconut oil. Her hair gets tangled and sometimes it does not look moisturized. My beautician told me to be careful because some things can actually harm her hair .... which is currently healthy and growing steadily.

So I've been apprehensive about buying products for her. However I like for hair day to go as smooth as possible and tangles prevent that. So one day I was in Walmart with time to kill and I walked to the hair aisle to look for a detangler for babies. I was looking at each product when I came across the detangling hair pudding. I said ok .... let's try this out.

This product is amazing!!!!!!!

Not only does it detangle my daughter's hair but it also moisturizes the hair and makes it smell very yummy. Like literally I can sit and sniff my daughter's hair all day. It smells like a delicious mix of strawberries, blueberries, every berry, ice cream, yogurt, honey ...... just deliciousness! I did her hair in braids last Sunday. I took her braids out yesterday .... the hair STILL smelled amazing. I just sat there and sniffed it before washing it. The product is also very light. I once went to a beautician who used a product so heavy that I walked out of the shop feeling as if I had 50 lbs of hair on my head. I hate heavy products. I also hate greasy products. I dont want my daughter looking like

when she leaves someone's house.  This product is none of that. It makes her hair look moisturized and healthy without leaving grease every where. Another reason why I love the product is because its affordable to boot.  For that big container I spent maybe $3. What I really love about it is that a little product goes a long way so that one container should last us for a little while.

Hair day for Paige

I would give this product an A. I love it.

Too Independent???

This morning I was eating breakfast when my little princess woke up. She stared at my food as if she wanted some but when I tried to feed her, she shook her head and said no. I tried several more times with the same result. So I shrugged my shoulder and figured she would eat when she was good and ready. After several minutes, Paige grabbed my spoon and began to feed herself. She gave me an "I really dont need you ma" look. I gasped! It's finally sinking in ......I listened to too much Beyonce and 'dem when I was pregnant ......  my child is INDEPENDENT!

She wants to put on her own shoes, comb her own hair, feed herself, walk & run without assistance. You name it and she wants to do it ... .ALONE! Whenever you try to be a good parent and assist her, she gives you the most evilest <--- yes I know ... look that an 16 month old can muster. It's like in her own little way she is saying "Chile how many times must I tell you that I have this!"  I guess this would be ok if she wasnt hitting us with all of it at once. I mean she was just in my belly and now she wants to walk around Walmart instead of riding in the buggy .... like a normal toddler. The independence is so real that I will not be surprised if she wakes up tomorrow and is like ..

What am I going to do with Miss Sofia? I dont know.

Easter

Well it is EASTER again! This one is more significant than the last because I actually have a toddler on my hands ..... that means easter egg hunts, baskets and etc. I found the cutest bunny ears at Target for merely a dollar and that set our Easter weekend off right.

Paige and her bunny ears

We started Easter off with pictures with the Easter bunny. I thought Paige would be afraid of the bunny but obviously this child is afraid of nada. She was one of the only babies who sat in his lap without bursting into tears. Instead Paige Malia attempted several times to take the Easter bunny's face off. It was like she knew there was an actual human behind that mask and was not going to be content until she saw him or her. Needless to say we did not get a "great" picture but she enjoyed herself so that's all that mattered. Plus we really got to see that Paige is truly advanced. There were toddlers there that were way older than her yet Paige was more advanced.  Their parents could not believe that she was only 16 months old. She walked around Bunnyville as if she had been there before.  Her outfit for her picture was beautiful .... a purple tutu with a white shirt and purple cardigan but somebody misplaced my child's outfit so she had to wear a throwback.

Paige's Easter picture with the Easter Bunny

The next day we went for the Easter egg hunt in my hometown. We missed the hunt but Paige did get an egg. I thought she was fine with holding the egg. Why do I NOT know any better by now? It's like I'm a glutton for punishment. Before we knew it, Paige had cracked the egg, began to peel it and was going to eat it <------ 16 months old I remind you.  Show me ONE 16 month old that acts like this ... just one. She was actually upset when I took her egg away from her. She did enjoy playing with her cousins and just basically running around Moore Haven......she LOVES this place! Her outfit for the day was a teal and purple Ralph Lauren short set. It was comfortable and cute.

The next day was Easter. I really struggled because unlike last year, Paige had TWO...yes two Easter dresses this year. Both were beautiful so it was hard to figure out what she was going to wear. I finally settled on the peach dress. I so love this dress. It's so eastery <--- yall know I make up words lol It was peach and big and just flat out GORGEOUS! She looked so pretty in it. I think she knew it too because she had an extra bounce in her step. lol

Paige ended her Easter with candy <---UGH! and by the time we made it home, homegirl was exhausted and knocked out. Perfect Easter for us!  Check out Paige's Easter Flipgram

Tea time with Daddy?

It's no secret that Paige has her daddy wrapped around all 10 of her little fingers. He tries to deny it but it is what it is. What I love the most about their relationship is how unconventional it is. Instead of bows and tutus, Paige and her daddy think play tackle football is fun. I mean he literally yells "Blue 32, Blue 32 hut hut" and she runs into him. They both collapse, laughing and having a good time while I'm sitting in the cut like

Their weirdness does not stop there. Another bonding time involves going outside and chasing ducks. These expeditions are often video recorded so that I can worry and hyperventilate later.  See how much they hate love me!

So anyhoo every now and then, when my blood pressure is not raised and I'm not scared out of my mind, the two of them will do something cute. Hence tea time with daddy. Now I think tea time with daddy is cute. Just flat out adorable. Of course my daughter and her daddy would have to remix it. Instead of tea, they had tacos but the concept was still the same. Paige was feeding herself and daddy sat down and joined her and then they talked. It was the cutest thing ever! For once I was just like

instead of being scared, worried or panicking. Thanks you two :)
